As the Holocaster revs up, it reveals...that one crazy girl who gave the Pokemon catching demonstration. She's holding what looks like a bat-faced jack-o-lantern in her arms and grinning broadly.

"Hey! Beautiful genius Kotoha here with the man of the hour: Booregard!"

At this, she holds up the Pumpkaboo and makes a little 'tah-dah!' sound.

"This little cutie was the linchpin of my strategy when challenging the Santalune Gym, and did it ever work out! You're looking at a proud holder of the Bug Badge!"

She lets go of Booregard, allowing the Ghost-type to float in midair, as she does a little pirouette.

"I was thinking to celebrate I'd check out that little boutique next to the Pokemon Center; does anyone want to go shopping with me?"

Excuse you, Kotoha, rude. Though he's just going to shrug it off and let her talk to his partner for the time being. For the best, really.

Except for when she starts talking pretty ribbons, nopenopenope.

"She's a lion, not some domestic house cat, Kotoha." He grumps. Though Joruri is more interested in the conversation, letting out a squeak of sorts and an enthusiastic head nod.

Kotoha glances up at him.

"...you're wearing more makeup than I am, you know. You're not really in the best position here."

"It's not makeup, it's paint. There's a huge difference since this isn't just some ridiculous fashion statement."

He points back at Joruri who's ignoring him by now.

"And she's a lion, big and fierce. Or, er, will be."

"'Big' and 'fierce' don't conflict with 'cute', you know!"

Hopping back up to her feet.

"I mean, look at me! I'm as terrifyingly strong as I am adorable!"

[bunraku]

"No, you'really just cute." It takes him a moment to realize what he's said before he throws his hands over his mouth. As if that will fix everything.

Slight pause.

"I'd like to reciprocate, but I have no idea what you look like under all that paint."

"How about we pretend nothing was said, and in exchange you come with us to help pick out the ribbon?"

Soft bit of a groan, of course he'd end up roped into it one way or another.

"Fine, if it'll make you forget that I said anything."

"That's the spirit! And think of it this way: it'll be at least a little practical, since she'll be carrying around fireproof cloth on her all the time!"
